I am a cop. I only get two weeks of vacation. Is that enough time for recovery? The problem is if this isn't enough I can't have the surgery.

You need to discuss this with your surgeon. You and he would be the ones to make that call. My knee jerk reaction would be to say no, unless you are on desk duty. But I'm not a doc or a police officer! It depends on many factors including how quickly your surgeon's patients usually recover.

i had the surgery on Friday and was back to work on Tuesday, but i have a sedantary job. However, I was back to a pretty regular schedule *including swimming daily* within 2 weeks! would talk it over with my doc... by the way, as the mother of 2 police officers, I want to say "Thanks" ... we appreciate what you guys do out there! good luck!

I can't answer your question, brother, I just wanted to toss you a shout out from LAPD. I'm scheduled for Dec. 8th & we get a month for our long vacation. I had always called my extra weight "tactical pounds!", in jest, because if I had to take someone down they were staying down! But 15 yrs and 55-60 pounds later...not so cute!
