Body Odors...???? advice please!!!!

OK, not one of the things I am really wanting to admit but is this normal????

Since a few days after surgury I have noticed all of my body odors are stronger.( four weeks out now)

I shower at least twice a day now and deoderant fails within an hour or two tops. I just smell. This is all new for me. I have never had trouble with BO but OK this is about to be TMI..but...ALL of my bodily fluids, bodily odors, hair, everything is just different and not very pleasent. I am brushing my teeth several times a day as well.....ewwww very embarrassing.

I thought maybe the liquid Vitamins were doing it so I stopped them for threee days, no change.

I am getting plenty of Water, about 68-80 oz a day.

I shouldn't be in ketosis because many of my mushies are carbs.

Could it be from the protien drinks ( I drink 2 EAS Advantage edge carb controls a day) I will be on solids very soon so I can then give these up if they are the reason.

Did anyone else else go through this? Will it go away???

Embarrassed and in need of advice!!!! thanks

I too had some funky armpit thing going on and switched from Arrid to Adidas and man the difference is amazing but I also alternate it out with this stuff called Thai-I use it when I get out of shower then rub this deodorant stone on pits then in morning I put on adidas and it stays good all day and Im in humid houston and I had SERIOUS issues-not so much sweat as odor.sooooooo glad to know it wasnt just me-whew!I love this board!!

Heh heh, kinda reminds me of the old joke:

Two friends, Jack and Bill are talking,

Jack: "I bought a monkey over the weekend as a pet."

Bill: "Cool, any problems with it?"

Jack: "Well, it insists on sleeping in our bed between my wife and I"

Bill: "Oh man, what about the smell?"

Jack: "Well, I got used to it...so can the monkey!"

This is funny timing with this thread because about two months ago I bought some different deodorant because the Secret was getting clumpy on me as the day went on. Three weeks ago I was on San Diego with several co-workers and one night we were just hanging out in one of the hotel rooms watching TV and the subject of deodorant came up, it was Secret they were talking about. I think they have made some changes at least to some of the formulas, I have worn Secret for years and never had this problem until recently.

While you’re trying different thing you might try Mitchum. They make an anti-bacterial deodorant and anti-perspirant. At least that is what the sticker on the lid says.

My Doctor told me to get this mint called innermint. You can purchase it on the net at www.innermint.com and it is suppose to help those that have gone through weight loss surgery to get rid of those odors. I hope this helps. Check it out.

I use a deodarant stone, you can purchase them from the health food stores. You use them after your bath or shower while you are still wet, it kills the bacteria that causes the oder, but it doesn't keep you from sweating. However there have been recent articles about deodarants and breast cancer, something about it cloggs your pours and stops you from sweating, and this sometimes being related to breast cancers. I'll look for the articles and post them later.

LOL .. after reading this thread this morning, in a panic I ran to my hubby who was in the shower and demanded that he tell me if I have a foul odour.

He has now thoroughly assured me I need not worry and promised that if I ever do, he'll inform me (but was smart enough to toss in that he'd love me even if I did hehe)

After reading this though, I'll make sure next time I'm in the states not to purchase Secret. Sounds like its really taken a downhill dive from the days when I used to use it.

*phew*

You're a good sport Nita. I wasn't sure if you were going to be offended by my finding levity in your situation. I meant no disprespect.

Well, sometimes, the only thing to do is laugh about it.

And I will second your observation about a sharpened sense of smell. I think I could have written down the exact recipe for the Cookies I smelled my son eating yesterday. So, if it wasn't for the fact that my husband is sweet enough (LOL) to tell me that yeah, Ya kinda do stink right now, LOL....I just might think I always smelled like this and just didn't know it.

Thanks all for the advice I am absolutely looking into each suggestion!!!!!!

I heard about the deoderant/breast cancer thing. It was quite a while ago, and I believe that it turned out being a scare to get people read the article or watch the news. I'm pretty sure it boiled down to the idea that anti-persperants can block your pours and cause boils or cyst type things, but that's about as far as it went. If there's something more recent, definitely let us know. :)
