My dr. office- Dr. Woodard sent my info to Obesity law and they submitted more info to bcbsil and they maintained their denial. I am curently going onto my 4th month of dr. supervised diet Which I need to complete before approval. I have gained on this program from the stress- Any words of wisdom out there?

What is your BMI? Some insurance companies require a certain BMI. If it were at all possible, I would call my insurance company myself.

I called my insurance company (BCBSAL) last year when I started researching lap-band to find out if it covered the surgery and was given helpful information regarding the entire procedure. They informed me of all the requirements I would have to fulfil before being approved. Have you considered calling them yourself? I completed 6 mths of diet (Dr. supervised), had my dietary consult and psych consult was on Friday. I went in today for my final weigh-in and was approved in a short time for my surgery 11/11. I would sure give it a try! Good luck!!!
