hello everyone, I was banded 6 days ago. I lost 25 pounds so far. I want to know how long I will feel soso after the operation. I feel dizzy and weak off and on and I am on soft foods which do give me some indigestion. Is this all normal? I'm in Tucson AZ. Dr. Schwartz did my band. Glad you are all here.

I guess everyone is different, some might feel fine after a few days, others a few weeks. Are you taking any kind of vitamins and minerals, that might make a difference. Hope your feeling better real soon.

Thanks for reply,

no vitamins or minerals, any suggestions? Maybe i lost too much too fast 25 pounds. I feel pretty good most of the time. I just get some indigestion sometimes that lasts for hours

I was banded oct 14. I experienced the same things, you are still healing. Are you getting in enough calories and protein? It really does make a difference on how you feel. Sometimes I think my body is in shock because it is not used to eating so little.

I think you are correct, i am just weak from starving, haha. I am glad that i am not really hungry ever. The 3 weeks of 1000 calories did me good. I eat so little at this time and i have not been filled yet. Tonight i have a good meal planned with a small dose of wine. Thank you

HOW WEIRD IS IT WHEN YOU FIRST START EATING SOLID FOODS? IS CHEESE OK? WHAT SHOULD I DEFINETLY STAY AWAY FROM? THANKS:laugh:

I have vitamins chewable from bariatric advantage my surgeon gave them to me they are watermelon cant say they taste good though

Congrats on the operation!

I was really restlessness and uncomfortable for a good week, but then that all changed on the 7th day. My port pain incision finally stopped itching and I'm back to feeling the way I did before the operation (only better, because I don't have that pre-op liquid diet hunger!)

Vitamins I would recommend are the slice of life Vitamin line including the multi vitamin and the b12 vitamin. They are really good, but just be sure to chew them well....it's really easy because they are soft and taste great!

I also picked up the Calcium citrate/vitamin d vitamin from Trader Joe's. You take 3 of the pills through out the day. The pills are large, but are totally easily swallowed. Good luck with your recovery.
