New to lapband

Hi everyone! I just went yesterday for consult. I have to go for psy. eval, blood work, & sleep test & then I have to wait & see if I am a candidate. Is this how you started? I am 5/3 @200lbs, my bmi is 35, anyone have same numbers as me & been approved? Dr. said I am low end. Also wondering what the recop. time is like? I have a 2yo & wondering how much helpo I would need with her - I am sahm. Any advice would be great!! Thanks so much!

Yeah, 35 is the low end. If you have co-morbidities, your insurance should cover it but you probably don't want to drop lower.

You will have restrictions on lifting for a month or two, but recovering enough to be up and about shouldn't take too long. As long as you are on pain meds, they won't let you drive.

I was a BMI of around 36 on the day of my surgery, but I was self-pay.
