My surgeon recommended Flinstones Chewables...they're easy small and they don't taste too bad. Maybe someday I switch to adult vitamins, but for now these are just fine

I take the flinstones. If you look on the back they actually say adults and children take 1 daily.

I take Centrum Silver Chewables and TwinLab Calcium Citrate Chewables.

Wow, from what I heard it is not good to take Flinstones since it is made for the general public not for bariatric patients. I also heard its not good to take Centrum and stuff. I read up on some stuff that is some good reading I thought. I got it on a website.

I got this off of a LapBand surgery Info site...they don't recommend Centrium or Flinstones if you have had gastric bypass, but they are both fine if you have had the LapBand surgery because they don't bypass your stomach...

LAP-BAND®

The LAP-BAND® is a purely restrictive operation and does not result in any decreased absorption. For this reason the Vitamin requirements are less than for a gastric bypass. For the first 3 weeks you will need the following:

Yeah, I guess.. But still I would feel better taking something that is meant for the bariatric community. I understand it is restrictive instead of a whole anatomy change, but regardless your body is not the same compared to the general public which is where these vitamins are geared for. As always you get what you pay for. I mean just look at the chart and the difference with bariatric advantage stuff with the regular centrum and centrum is meant for adults. All im saying is with ones body chances are not to be made to even come close to have deficiencies. I would rather just know that what I am taking were specificaly made for me. just my 2 cents. KNOW WHAT I MEAN!

I haven't had Rny and I don't plan on taking the vitamin regimen that they do as it's not really necessary. I get the same nutrition as the next person. I have had tons of labs done and I am just fine

I would be interested to see the cost difference for the two types of vitamins. My doctor also instructed me to take calcium and fish oil daily.

I Have seen the price comparisons and if looked at in everyday pricing it is about 0.44 cents a day for the Bariatric Advantage vitamins compared to flintsones and Centrum which is like 64 cents a day or something like that. I mean people spend more a day in things like starbucks...so why not for the right vitamins. Maybe I can copy and paste the different multi and prices. I have it on PDF but wont copy correctly. But im telling you its mind boggling.

Thats Great, but most will recommend that you take calcium and iron as well, so you got to take these into consideration as well.

According to my doctor as long as you are eating properly you don't really need to even take vitamins. Of course, everyone needs to listen to their own physician and it depends on your age, weight and diet but so far i am feeling great without and my tests are perfect.

I was just curious about the cost because the baritric drinkis are so much more expensive then the average protein drink. I definantly feel a difference if I don't take my vitamins, I think I am currently to tight and not getting enough nutrition and that may be why I feel such a difference with an without vitamins. I get b vitamin shots three times a week which really make me feel great.

I take Adult Gummy Vites from Target and a Calcium Chewable. I don't have to take any, per my doc, but since my calories are severly restricted, I figure it can't hurt... I asked my doc about the Bariatric vitamins cause he sells them to his RNY patients... he said I really did not need to take them, and just to make sure my diet is varied. Go figure. At least he's honest and not just trying to make a sale.
