How do you get the sticky tape residue off?

I was banded on Oct 13 and everything is going good except that the sticky tape residue left over from the surgery is driving me CRAZY. I have taken a shower everday and tried scrubbing with soap, a buff pad and an exfoliator. What is the trick? My sterri (sp?) strips are fine but the sticky tape stuff wont come off.

I have had several surgeries in the past and sometimes skin so soft from avon will work and sometime use rubbing alcohol. If this doesnt work call the surgery center because I know I have been given packets of stuff also.

Vaseline. Let it sit for a bit to release the adhesive. Plus my dermatologist requires it for my incisions after having places removed to check for cancer and once cancer is removed so it is safe even if you get it on the incision. Plus it leaves your skin nice and soft. LOL Good luck and Congrats on your band.

We often tell people to use babyoil... and I've used the babyoil. But I had a brain fart with my band and didnt use it LOL

Congrats!!!

Thanks for all of the advise! Unfortunately the vaseline, baby oil and rubbing alcohol didn't work. The dang hospital went overboard on the tape - you probably wouldn't believe it if you saw it! I am going to see my doc tomorrow for my 1 week post op and will ask him for something. Thanks again
