I was banded on 10/15/08. Everything went smoothly no complications I received a 10 cc band. the Dr. told my husband that my stomach was small after the surgery was completed. When I spoke to him he said everything went great and that the surgery was very easy. Now this is the third day from the surgery and I have no real appetite. I am forcing myself to eat, diet shakes with added whey protein are the easiet. I am also eating cottage cheese and I am going to start baby food in the morning. How did everyone else do right after surgery. I really have no appetite at all. This is a strange sensation for me. LOL Even when I am sick I could always eat. LOL I still can't believe am here everything seems so much brighter.:w00t:

Wow, it sounds like you had a great experience. I am waiting to hear back from insurance so that I can get banded too. So, do they not tell you what size band they use until they put it in? Are you gassy?

I had good exp, too! I'm in no pain and no real appetite, I see Dr. on friday,maybe i go to soft foods,,, but have energy,took a walk for about 30 min, today,,,I also had my surgery on Wed. the 15th

I was banded on Oct. 9th. Hate to burst your bubble but appetite does return after about 6 or 7 days. Glad you guys have had good experiences. Mine was great too. Very little pain, very little nausea and the gas pain has gone away now (finally). I get gassy when I eat some things now (like applesauce, who'da thunk it) and some things I tolerate incredibly well that I didn't think I would (like beans). My incisions look great and I'm back at work having everyone tell me how good I look. I've lost 19 pounds so far including 11 from pre-op diet. Best of luck to us all!

I'm feeling better each day. As I mentioned in other posts, I didn't feel much surgical pain b/c I only have one incision site. My doctor uses a one port technique whereby he places the band though my belly button and the scar is hidden within. the gas pains were the bane of my existence. But I feel great as trhe days wear on. My throat is a little sore from the tube, but that's about it.

I am glad everyone is doing great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I may go back to work tomorrow maybe not. LOL

That is a real bummer on the appetite though. But even though I am kinda having cravings I am sticking to diet shakes, cottage cheese, baby food, and cream of wheat so far and having no problems. I am also taking the proteing bullets and it seems to help with my feeling full. What is everyone else eating?

My incisions are doing well. I am going to try and walk tonite.

I have lost 15lbs so far. I gained 11 before surgery:sad:. It feels good to be on the loosing side again.

How are those protein bullets working out for you? One a day, or less frequently? What flavors are best? Do you drink it all at once, or space it out throughout the day?

I'm considering doing this during my full liquids phase post-op (Days 4-14). I've heard they control your hunger pretty well.
