May have to switch from lap to bypass...

There is a possibility that I may have to switch from the lap band procedure to the gastric bypass after the results from my esophogeal manometry showed abnormalties. Was told if I was banded I may suffer from reflux, gagging, etc. Anyone else experience this??

    I suffer from reflux - and on med's for that and was banded on 9/24/08 - in fact I have scare tissue - from all the acid reflux.

    I too have reflux and taking medication for it... not banded yet, but surgery scheduled for 11/11. Are you already medicated? Be sure your Dr. is aware - he/she can give you a prescription for one of the anti-reflux meds. Good luck!
