Diet

I am planning on going in to get banded tommorrow at 5am. How long were you on a liq. diet? Any information you can give would be great.

I would think they would give you post op instructions at the appropriate time, Katherine. The thing is, there is a large variation between doctors when it comes to post op diet. Personally, I did a week on liquids, a week on mushies, a week on soft foods, then on week 4 I was allowed to start in on real foods. The reason that some docs want you on a liquid diet post op is to give the sutures on your stomach time to heal.

My doc has me on a liquid diet for two weeks, then two weeks of "mushie."
