Hi Janet!

I am having surgery on 10/14 as well! Have you seen the October Odessy post? It is a fun group on this forum...check it out!

Hi Janet,

Good luck on your surgery!!! I just had my consult 9/30/08.I'm waiting to be scheduled. My secondary insurance will pay for the surgery, but they have to have a denial letter from my insurance before they will pick up the cost. My surgery can't be scheduled until then. LBT is a great site and all of the threads have been very supportive and helpful. How long do you have to be on the Optifast before the surgery-- one or two weeks? Do all drs require this before the surgery?

I have to be on the Optifast 3 times a day for 3weeks. The clinic I went to in winnipeg manitoba likes you to loose some wt before the surgery. It takes some of the fat off of your liver so it makes it easier to flip up your liver to get to your stomach. have been doing good on it didn't like the taste at first but getting use to it. then can have 2 cups of green veg. But not really interesed in them. Not really hungry on the optifast.
