I am going on week number 4 since my surgery. I am now on solids. Everytime I eat, i get a horrible stomach ache and nausea- Is this normal and has this happened to anyone else?

What are you eating?

You need to progress slowly, start with one very small portion of soft solids like tender unbreaded fish filets and soft cooked veggies and when you can eat a decent portion of these without nausea then slowly add denser foods like chicken, then beef...

Until you can get three solid meals in, keep supplementing your diet with liquids and mushies. It is like a baby learing to eat, you have to take it slowly.

Yes, try just one small soft/solid meal per day. It took me a week or maybe a little longer to be able to comfortably get three solid meals in per day. I started out having my solid at lunchtime and mushies for breakfast and dinner. Then I added solids for dinner and lastly solids for breakfast. (even now breakfast is sometimes hard for me).

I'm at week 5 post op. I had terrible stomach aches too. I think, for me, it was my digestive system going back to work again. It would hurt so much then about an hour later I would need to go to the bathroom but everything was normal. Maybe it was the built up gas still left inside after the surgery? Not sure but it went away.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
