Hi Rosemary3... I'm starving too! I'm 4 days post-op and feeling pretty good. But I am really hungry. I called the Dr and he said I could add the Optifast shakes but my stomach is still growling. My Dr. appointment isn't for another week ~ I'll starve by then! I'm looking for ideas as well!!!!!!

If you want ready to drink, Worldwide Protein Shakes are great. They are sold at Trader Joe's (35g or 21g Protein, vanilla and chocolate only, $2.29 for the 35's and $1.69 for the 21's), GNC (35's only, vanilla and chocolate only $2.99--other flavlors available online), and the Vitamin Shoppe (35's only, all flavors sold in stores and online--$2.79 each or $27.99 in a 12 pack--comes in Vanilla Cream, Chocolate Cream, strawberry, banana Cream, and Cookies n' Cream {tastes like Oreos}--available online, free shipping $99 or more--recently were on sale online for $22.99 for 12 pack). Good way to maximize your protein intake. Low carb (3-4) low sugar (about 1g) and low fat (about 1g). Calories vary from 100 (21's) to 160-170 (35's).

If you like powders to mix up, unjury is good. Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, chicken Soup, and Plain. Go to unjury.com for info.

hi. i'm going out in search of something better...if i find it ..i'll let you know...r u on 3 wks fluids also? is tomato soup ok or is it tomato juice only? Bye for now..good luck.

Hi Rosemary3,

I was banded on monday and not really liking the protein shakes i had. My friend(who had gastric bypass) brought over some muscle milk chocolate peanut butter protein mix. It has 45 grams of protein if you mix it with milk and then i just sip it all day. the one shake is enough for the protein. I also like the carnation instant breakfast sugar free.

I had cambells creamy tomato soup yesterday and it was a hunger stopper!!! I figured if i could have v8 then why not the soup??

Today is the best day yet and i figure they will keep on getting better!! Tuesday i go to the docs and hopefully it will be mushy foods by then. I find it kind of hard to watch hubby and two boys eating when i cant but i tell myself "This too will pass!!"

My gastric girlfriend also recommends cookies and cream by muscle milk. I have yet to try it but she did give me some to try. I will let you know. Hang in there!! It is only temporary!!
