So here I go...

I have used this site and its many forums to help me understand the questions I needed to ask my surgeon and appreciate everyone sharing their experiences.

I got the call today... Insurance has approved me for banding!!!! I don't have a date just yet, my Docs office needs the paper in hand to actually calendar a date.

I am a little overwhelmed that I will finally have a tool that can help me return to great health and maybe even purchase clothes from a retail store, rather than online or big and tall!

Leaning towards the Realize band on my surgeons recommendation and need to get my mind wrapped around the two-week liquid pre-op diet... that is going to be challenge!

Surgeon is Dr. Keith Gersin in Charlotte, NC.

Congratulations! Getting approved is a giddy feeling!

Congrats! I remember that feeling of excitement (like I have gotten rid of it yet). My surgeon's office said the same thing about not scheduling without the letter, BUT they accepted an emailed approval acknowledgement from my insurance company that was sent to me (I emailed my insurance company to find out if I had been approved). You never know, they may schedule you with that?
