Hi from NJ!

Hi all! I've been reading a lot of your posts. You are all very informative! I'm seriously considering the band. I went to a seminar in July and I have an appointment to talk to a surgeon on the 12th. My concern and the reason I'm on the fence, is because I'm a single mom and My daughter is 17 months old. I know that I won't be able to lift her for about 6 weeks after surgery, so I'm not sure how I'm going to manage. On top of that, I can stay with my mom, but I really don't want to stay there for 6 weeks, but I'll deal with that when the time comes.

My other concern is what happens with all of the skin! I don't have the money to have a tummy tuck once I loose the weight, so I'm pretty concerned about that. But I guess being obese is a lot worse then extra skin huh!

Anyway...Looking forward to getting to know many, if not all, of you in my Quest to lose weight.

Hey Tonice, I'm excited about my surgery and cannot wait for it to be done and like six weeks out lol. I am also nervous as well, hard not to be. The first worry would be something happening to me during surgery but my surgeon has put my mind at ease a bit with that and the second is basically failing. I too am a single mom (widowed) but my kids are a bit older, my son is almost 13 and my daughter is 15 so I've told them already that I will need their help with things after surgery :lovechoc:. Good luck with your meeting and I wish you well. My surgery is scheduled for November 24th, as long as insurance approves it I'll be doing it. Take care, Jackie
