Hello from WV

Hello all, I am getting ready to go to the seminar and in hopes of changing my life for ever. I have already got pre-certified from my insurance so hopefully the next 6 mo. will go by quickly. I am very nervous but excited. I am looking for new friends and experiences so talk to me and I also would like to know other peoples receipes and do's and don'ts regarding diet after the surgery. Beck:wink_smile:

Congratulations. Jennifer!!!!!!! That is awesome!!

YEAAAA!!!!! Its about time, right? When do you go see Kaplan?

For all you banded already, dont forget we have Support Group tonight. Bring you Spouse, its on relationships

Brian and I have a dual appointment with Dr. Kaplan Monday morning (03-02-09). Brian will more than likely go first, and me a week later, so I guess I'm looking at 3 weeks. Can someone refresh my memory oh what I have to do after I see Kaplan? I have to give my boss an outline tomorrow. I know I need to have bloodwork, see Jeanne, see Lindsay, and have my endoscopy. Am I missing something??

Thanks guys!

Once you see him you will know when you surgery is. You will have to have an appointment with Lindsey for the post op diet and also with Jeannie. When you go for your preop for your endoscope is when you will do all the blood work, I think. I didnt have to have an endoscope so my blood work was done the day of my pre op for my surgery. You will be on a VERY strict diet for 2 weeks before your surgery and if you dont follow the diet and dont lose the amount of weight they want you to lose in that time, they will cancel. Things are gonna get rolling and it is going to be fast your surgery will be here before you know it.

Good for you .. How long was that appointment? When this first started we went to a different dr. Dr. Dunn, and he had 4 hour appointments that was a waste of time

Hi guys! Just checking in. Here's how it's going:

Brian's endoscopy is today

My endoscopy is Friday the 13th

Brian's surgery is Thursday the 19th

My surgery is Thursda the 26th

Brian's been on the pre-op diet since the 5th and he's really having a hard time. We had a cheer competition this weekend in Columbus and we're really noticing how much food is thrown at us! Does anyone have any tips on how to make it through the pre-op? I start this Thursday. Or is it just something we have to suck up and hope we live through? lol

Jennifer- Congratulations! I know how exciting that is! It's cool that you and your husband are so close in the stages that you can do them together. My husband and I were 2 months apart, so we were completely different. My advise to you is to look at it as just 2 weeks. I KNOW how bad it SUCKS! What helped me was that I altered things a little on the weekends. We were out both the weekends, so I had a salad with grilled chicked and no dressing (yuck, I know) for lunch, and then the shake for dinner. Stick with it, I know you can do it. Look at it this way, I lost 15lbs and my husband lost 20 during that time, so at least that's a good payoff! If you want to vent about it all, just send me a message. =) Good luck, you two!!!

Good Luck Jennifer, you and your hubby will be over on this side in no tme. Did they put him first so you'd be able to take care of him his first week? Bad joke I know but around here thats how it would of had to be. Think thin and healthy you both will get through it
