Fragmin

I was wondering how bad the daily shots were? I'm terrified of needles, so I"m not really looking forward to my husband poking me in the hip for 10 days. *lol*

I do not know of anyone on this board who has been given Fragmin. Why on Earth is your doctor prescribing this for you? Do you have a history of clots?

No, no history of clots - he said it was just to prevent clots and it's routine for all patients. I get a shot of it before going into surgery, and I'll have 10 shots of it to give myself once a day to prevent any from forming. I assumed it was normal for all lap band patients.

Interesting concept but now I understand. My doc gives the shot right before surgery and then starts coumadin which is a pill for a month, I think.

A pill would have been nicer instead of a shot, that's for sure! *lol* :(

I had the shot right before surgery and that was it. I haven't heard of anybody having to continue the shot for the next 10 days! Wow!

I get the shot before and nothing after just told to do those movements like you're supposed to do on the plane and breathing exercises! PHEW!!!
