:confused:How long are you each taking off from work. My dr. recommended at least a week. I was hoping for a couple days (with a weekend). My c-section wasn't too bad at all so this can't be much worse can it?

I planned on going back to work on Monday after my Friday surgery and ended up taking the whole week off. I have a friend who had it done and wanted to go to work on her way home from the hospital. Everyone is different, but from all the threads I've seen on the subject, a week seems to be average.

I have my surgry on Monday and will be off for 2 days. I have the ability to work from home...so I'm going to take advantage of that benefit.

I was so excited with my first date, a Wednesday, because I would have three days and then the weekend. Now I was changed to a Friday and I need to go back on Monday. What can I say, I need the money. I have a high pain tollerance so I think I should be fine. I have heard the port might be a problem with pants so I guess I could wear a dress, god forbid - no one ever sees my legs. I had my gallbladder taken out so I know about the gass pains. I hope I am doing the right thing.

I'll be taking the day after off of work, then I won't be due to be back at work until a week later. I do have my one week follow up that day so i am hoping to go back for a half day then.

I took off a total of 11 days, 2 weekends and the 4th of July. I probably could have gone back to work after a week, but it was nice to have the extra few days. I have a desk job and the only discomfort was from sitting at a computer all day. I had to get up and walk several times during the day. I don't know how so many people can go back to work after only a day or two, I think my discomfort was worse on day two and three. I don't think I could have gone back that soon. After about the 4th day, I felt great and have continued to feel better each day.

I will be banded the Tuesday after labor day and I will go back the following Monday.

mom2two - I've had 2 c-sections, the lap band was not as painful as the c-sections. For one thing, the band was done laproscopically so there wasn't that big incision and the recovery time was much shorter, even though my dr's nurse keeps telling me to "slow down, don't try to do to much, you know you just had major surgery and it takes a good 6 weeks to heal".

Aprilapple - Wish you the best, let us know how you do.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
