I've just joined

Howdy. I've been thinking about Lap Band for a long time but this is the first time I've investigated it. I don't know yet if my insurance will cover it or where I'll have it done. I just know that I'd like my knees and feet to stop hurting when I climb stairs and I'd like to cut down on the 12 medications I must take every day. I'll be doing a lot of reading on this site and others to make my final decision. I'm the sole breadwinner for my family, so I want to make sure I'm not doing something that will take me out. Full gastric bypass seems too dangerous to me.

So thanks in advance to everyone for their postings.

Hello Julian...I am sure you have found the right place for information on experiences & support. I to am new at this, but it looks like a great place to post as everyone is so friendly and supportive...we are all in the same boat

On a side note, I am having difficulties finding a Doctor who accepts my insurance, go figure, someone who doesn't want to be paid! I am not near a military facility, as my screen I.D. identifies, so I am left to investigate on my own Doctors & facilities covered by my insurance and I've got to tell you I've been on a wild goose chase! Even my insurance can't give me names when I call, geez. I am determined however to find someone and initiate this process.

I look forward to speaking with as many people as possible about their experiences and hopefully share with you my own. It's a pleasure to be here!
