in desperate need of help. I am a cardiac patient. I had a heart attack in feb 08, and have severe medical conditions and am obese. My cardiologist wrote a letter stating it is most critical I get the lap band, My insurace is WELLCARE. I called them and they said the will cover it if it is life and death, which my cardiologist pretty much clearly states. Now. i cant find anyone to take my insurance that there isnt a one year waiting list. I wont be here in a year at the rate it is going. This is most critical. Please. help needed.

I live in Georgia as well. There are a lot of bariatric centers. We have several here in Augusta. Have you tried other places? Did your cardiologist reccomend any other bariatric surgeries or only lap band?
