I am being banded July 14th. I am very nervous and excited. I am very interested in how people are doing with returning back to everyday food...

Hello

My name is Renee and I was banded on 4/7/08. I have lost 40 pounds and have not regreted my choice in this type of WLS. I eat normal foods and sometimes I have one of my favorite sweet dishes. Oh and once I lost the first 25 lbs my body felt better and now I exercise 5-6 days a week.

Best of luck to you and I wish you a speedy recovery!!!!

I got my band June 23rd and I am eating food(chewing really well!) I have had cheerios, mini burgers, ham salad on crackers,talapia,... I am going slow but that is pretty quick to eating I'd say! I went and had my 1 week check from my Doctor. He said I was doing well. I was feeling great by the 1 week mark. So start mushy foods and go into regular foods the next week. I did mushy foods for a couple days and then got brave and tried some food! Like I said I little at a time to see how it felt and I had no problem. It is an adventure to try things and see how it goes. I have been cautious and successful so far.

But I am quite pleased with my recovery so far. My worst days were the second and third day pain wise and then it just got better each day. My pain was where the port was inserted (the bigger incision area). Bending was not so fun for a few days and then like I said better each day. I have lost 20 lbs so far. I am scheduled for my first fill on July 21st. Best of luck to you!

U know I have been banded since may 15th, and before i was banded i thought it was going to be hard as hell but it actually aint.... Once u get use to eating less and u get use to seeing the results and like what your hard work gets u... You wont have a prob. either... U can pretty much eat what u want, but u have to make the choices to stop when u are no longer hungry not when u are full and to get up and workout.... the band aint gonna push u off of the couch or the chair....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
