Hi, I'm new to posting, but not to the forum. I've been reading the forum for about 6 months or more. I figured I would join when I got closer to banding. Since I'm self pay, it's taking longer than I had hoped.
I'm making slow progress.
My question to every one is... do/did you ever feel that you should be losing the weight yourself instead of being banded?
Don't get me wrong.. I WILL get banded. I just have this little voice inside telling me "you should lose it on your own."
My dad died at 47 years old when I was 18 of a heart attack, he was obese. This is my biggest factor in being banded. I am 47 now. I have always fought with my weight and know I'll never keep it off without being banded. I keep telling myself that I'm still losing weight on my own, just with a little helping aid. Still sometimes, I feel like a failure that I can't do it on my own... does anyone else feel that way?
Thanks to everyone who posts, because I have learned so much from reading your posts. This place IS the place to be!
