Rachel Ray is an idiot

Did anyone see her show last week or the week before where she had that lady on who lost like 150 lbs.? She was talking about how she lost all that weight but then her friends wouldn't talk to her and even her mom was mad at her. They talked about the emotional impact of losing weight, emotional eating issues, etc...

Here's the idiot part: after the interview, Rachel Ray goes, "Now let's cook up some great food for these guys 'cause food makes everyone feel better!"

OMG I think my jaw hit the floor. Good thing I wasn't on the show because Rachel Ray would've shoveled some food into my mouth.

She is such a moron!

Juli, you make some great points. Thanks. I hadn't thought about it that way. My whole view was just the "You're presenting yourself in public, do so as well as you can" view. Which is a fairly narrow view, or can be. Thanks again!!

They obviously have talent and I'm sure many of them were smart enough to get through HS and college

Ahhhhhhh, but in the NBA the trend is moving towards drafting kids right out of high school. Huge mistake, if you ask me (I know......nobody actually did).

Both Juli and Heartfire are both right, IMO. Smart has little enough to do with diction and syntax (a speaker that isn't smart will reveal it by the content). A good example is Roger Clements. I watched his congressional hearings, and while his delivery is good, he is basically an idiot.

I think it has more to do with life experience. Pro sports (especially basketball) is a closed clique. The only people they tend to be around (as young men) are often just as "limited" in experiences. As the players get older and they do more things than strictly sport of choice, experience is broadened. I think that's why older players "sound" better.

PS- SNT, don't ever EVER speak ill of Peyton Manning!!! LOL

I can if I want!! :) Actually I have a lot of respect for Peyton both professionally and with his *improved* speech. He and I were at (the real, hee) UT at the same time, tyvm! GO VOLS!

had to make some type ORANGE!

Yeah, I almost made a snarky comment about your "Go Vols" tagline, when your location says Georgia.....However, your witty, witty comments made me go easy. You got off lucky this time, SNT.....

ROFL! Whew, I'm glad I'm humorous then! As far as living in Georgia goes, the second largest population of Vol fans are in Atlanta (and um, ya gotta go where the job is!!!). :)

PS - and all this time, I thought only WASa got my humor!!!

I can take her or leave her....sometimes she is okay and others, she just gets on my nerves...and yes, so does Paula Deen....I am really sick of seeing her on everything...

Rachael Ray…

Ack.

I like watching her 30 minute meals show. I typically do more of the cooking at home and enjoy how quick her recipes take to cook. However, for me it's not always 30 minutes. South Beach also has a 30 minute meal cook book with lots of great healthy recipes.

I'm not too interested in RR's day time show b/c it's just too feminine, but I guess it is intended to be for women.

Oh, the other thing I like about RR is that she is a cook and not a chef. She is just like everyone at home. And when she makes a mistake or drops something on the floor, like we all do, she just runs with it. Other chefs on t.v. would edit those mistakes out.

I love her!! Rach is freaking awesome. People are just jealous cause she's so fun loving creative and wholesome!!! Get over it ya'll!!

Earlier in the thread, I stated that I had always assumed Rachael Ray was a lesbian. Here is video proof that I was wrong. VERY wrong.

My bad.

Ohhh...I'm not surprised that plain is amused by that. My boyfriend is like that. He'll find the most "vertical" object I'm holding "exciting" and raise his eyebrows and go, "Try it on me?" :)

2cents: hate RR. hate Oprah. Love Conan O' Brian!:tt2: (Do you think he'll divorce his wife and marry me? Just asking!)

(Do you think he'll divorce his wife and marry me? Just asking!)

He might, but what would your boyfriend say?

We have people that we would sleep with, if they want us. So we would essentially break up and then get back together when we're done.Mine are:

James Woods (god, that voice...)

Conan O' Brian

Jack Davenport (NORRINGTION!)

[if he was still alive] Joey Ramone

Criss Angel

Marilyn Manson (yeah, he looks like a freak, but his personality is so much like mine that it's scary!)

My boyfriends' people are:

Scarlett Johanson

[if she was still alive] Marilyn Monroe

Halle Berry

[and for some reason] Ellen DeGeneris, if she wasn't gay.

Sarah Silvermen
