What are you looking forward to doing?

I've mentally kept a list of things that I want to be able to do "some day when I'm not so big." Let's put down a list together, keeping things specific. I'll start!

I want to be able to:

Tie my shoes without suffocating when I bend over, or not having to pull my foot up by my pantleg if I don't want to bend over.

Sit in an airplane seat without feeling like I am hogging up the other person's seat.

Not have to worry about whether restaurant chairs have arms that I have to try to squeeze into. I also have to have a "bonus-sized" office chair :)

Your turn!

One more thing...I want to be able to wear a normal off the rack necklace. Oh, how I miss cute costume jewlery!

1. Wearing a skirt with legs rubbing

2. Tucking my shirt in my pants

3. Wearing a swimsuit with out the cover up

4. Going to the gym and being worried about the men looking

5. Getting back into single digit sizes

6. Crossing my legs

7. Being able to jog at least 1 mile

Okay here's a few of mine:

-shopping for "regular" sized clothes

-not hiding from people I know when I run into them because I'm embarrased how much I've gained

-not fearful of breaking the chair/furniture that I sit upon (this actually happened to me, I sat on my aunt's lounge chair and heard a huge CRACK) sooooo embarassing

-not being judged by my appearance and people actually getting to know the "real" me

-and doing all sorts of activities I love but avoid because of my size

Can't wait......just a matter of time :smile2:

Here's a few more I thought about.

-I used to be real out going and socialable and as I put on more and more weight I have become very reclusive.

-my son always says I used to be so much fun and I was known for my very infectious laugh.

-have people not assume I am stupid because I am so overweight.

-Go into a regular store and buy clothes instead of shopping from a catalogue.

-I love swimming and do swim even now, but people look at me like I shouldn't be there.

-Be able to walk without the pain in my knees.

-Go out with my son's size 2 fianance and not feel so self conscious (she is really so sweet to Me)

I want to be able to drive other people's cars without bruising the top of my thighs trying to squeeze under their steering wheel.

I think I am looking forward to all the things mentioned so far. The other really big thing I am looking forward to is to finally be able to see the parts of my body that have been lost for years. lol

The toenails....How do you do that standing?

You have to blow out, then bend over, paint one nail, nearly suffocate because your "rolls" are pressing so hard on your chest that you cannot inhale, grab your lower back and groan as you stand back up, suck in air like it's your first breath after birth. Repeat until you get all 10, or turn blue, or both!

I am 300 and still do mine. I sit on the couch and rest my foot on the coffee table. I can angle it enough to get all 5 piggies. Even when I was "regular" sized, I never could touch my toes while standing! Conversely, I could do a mean splits...always! ;-)

Sorry for the TMI but I want to be able to easily wipe my bee-hind!

I wanted to add that I'm looking forward to fitting through a turnstyle with out turning sideways and hoping I'm not too big to fit through even that way!

dang those turnstyles!!!!

- Go to reunions without being horribly ashamed. Don't I want all those boys whom I used to like/used to like me to feel like they missed out? (Or NOT have a repeat of my 10th highschool reunion when someone asked when I was due; and I was only 180 lbs back then!)

- Go shopping for normal clothes instead of what I do now, which is hang out in the dressing room with my thin friend, and fetch different colors and sizes for her.

- Wear an underwire bra. I used to wear them all the time, but now the wires dig into my flab.

- Wear more than 1 kind of pant (black, Old Navy Yoga pant, XXL--I have like 10 pairs).

- Not suffer with achilles bursitis in my heals; someday I want to wear cute shoes again instead of my clompy, ugly MBTs.

- All the seat issues (movie theater, airplane, restaurant booths.) How I hate trying to figure out what to do with my arms. The old cross them over the chest trick; if I'm lucky, hold my husband's hand trick. I actually had to pass on buying a Honda CR-V because the seat was too small for comfort.

- Go to a rock concert and dance around without being self-conscious. Admittedly, I still dance around now. And no amount of weight loss will make me not 38

- Word on crossing your legs at the knee.
