Greetings from Missouri...

Well, the day has finally arrived. Surgery is just a few short hours away. I have visited the site quite a bit over the last couple of weeks. It has been my salvation during the pre-op liquid diet. It has been nice to hear about the ups and downs everyone has had and will continue to have over this tremedous journey. I'm looking forward to the next 40 years of my life being much healthier and able to do things I couldn't do before. My highest weight was 283 lb. When I went to the doctor for the final consultation I was down to 274.8 lb. Not good, but at least down. I'm curious to know what my weight is now before surgery after the pre-op diet. Anyone else going in today for surgery?

Good luck! I'll be going in next Thursday. Hope to see you on the losers bench real soon, and hope you will be here to share the experience post op.

:cool2:Hey sportscar, I'm from Missouri too. I have my surgery is less than a month. I start my 2 week liquid diet on July 10. I love this site it is so helpful to see that other people have the same feelings that you do. I'm writing to you from Florida. I'm on the last day of my vacation. I know that I've probably gained 5-10 pounds the last 2 weeks, but boy it was good. And I'm ready to start living a healthier life. Hang in there, your surgery will go fine! When you wake up you'll be on the road to a whole new you. Susan
