Just ate....

I am a veteran bandster and newbie revision, band to sleeve.

I just ate 15 chickens, 2 hams, 4 potatoes, a steak and some taffy.

Did I mess up my staple line? ;o)

(okay, I had to do this. It was a dare.)

"Pointing and giggling" - how rude! (I say in my best Blanche Devereaux voice.)

To be serious now, thx so much for the advice! :-) The only thing I'm leary of trying once I do get banded is white bread but I'm not big on it anyway, thankfully.

Hey, liquids for 4 months over here... ya gotta give me some wiggle room to giggle and point. ;o)

Just keep white carbs out of the picture and fat will melt away!

I had 3 whole fried chickens for dinner last night and 6 bags of bbq chips.

I really only ate a boneless skinless chicken thigh and 2 cups of garlic cauliflower lol.

WasA, I am so happy for you. Even if it took 2.5 hours, you got your chicken!!

I don't even want to say what I ate this weekend. I went camping and ate something about every 5 minutes. That's the great thing about the band. Since I am never really hungry, I will do Protein shakes this next week and lose however many lbs I gained over the holiday weekend.

I might have to do some extra cardio too, but eating like it was the last food I would ever see again, all weekend long, sure was fun!

Ohhhhh.... I ate sour cream lemon pie, cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, ice cream and oatmeal raisin Cookies, and some yummy strawberry rhubarb squares my niece made. Not to mention barbecued ribs, a hot dog, and an entire hamburger. I was still chewing on the hamburger a half hour after everyone else had finished eating, but I actually ate the whole thing. I can't believe I ate it all. But the holiday is over and back to being a good little bandster.

I just took all the barbecue leftovers and threw them into the crock pot this morning--leftover hamburger patties, grilled onions, tomatoes, baked Beans, and some barbecue sauce. I don't know what to call it, but it is smelling really good right now. New England chili? MMMMMMM good, believe it or not.

I just ate a double six dollar burger, a triple whopper w/cheese and a whole bloomin onion. Then I decided a chocolate brownie earthquake from DQ sounded good. That reminded me that I hadn't stopped at pizza Hut in awhile and ate an entire large combo w/anchovies.

I still felt like eating (head hunger) so I decided to try some deep fried whale blubber strips. Wow! Delicious.

I am very interested in the sleeve - it is the newest alternative to the band - I just got my band but am hoping I didn't make a mistake - I need to lose 45 lbs and the doctor said I didn't have enough to lose to justify the sleeve but it seems so much better long-term and I wouldn't have this ugly goose egg port thing sticking up on my stomach that I hate. My husband is considering surgery and I think he may be happier with the sleeve since no foreign object in your body but I am worried about it because it is not something you can reverse.

But, the sleeve is technically a foreign object in your body, right?

Ok, I went back and looked, and it appears I'm totally wrong. I am confused...

Edited by plain
clearly, I'm an idiot.

No, the sleeve is where they shear off a portion of your stomach laparoscopically so your stomach is shaped sort of like a "sleeve" or a banana shape - they remove the part of your stomach that has the hormones that tells your brain you are hungry. There are no malabsorption problems so not the same nutrient issues you have with gastric bypass.

Ahhh . . . lilMiss, you are kidding, but I wasn't this time. I really did eat all those things this weekend. We live in a resort park in the summer, and they had all sorts of barbecues and potlucks, plus my family had their own on Friday and another on Saturday to try to clean up the leftovers. Unfortunately, I did my part in that. Good news is I'm back on track today and did my bike riding, so I'm not feeling too bad about it.
