confused

Hey everyone. I think that this is weird but let me know if this happened to anyone else. June 26 is my band date. June 18 is my preop where i see the dotor and anetheseologist ( i know i spelled that wrong). The thing is, I'm im not going to see my docotor, the one who is doing the surgery. I guess hes busy and theyre having me meet with someoene else. Did anyone else do this? Any input would be great. Thanks

I didn't see my doctor at the pre-op appointment either. I did see him prior to that for my individual consult. We set the date, had the pre-op and I saw him for the 2nd time only at surgery. I think that is the norm. I am assuming you've met with him before and discussed everything at that time?

Yes I met him at the initial consult. I just would think that the doctor himself would meet with his patients pre op to discuss everything and get everything in order.

having worked at a hospital for the last 9 years, I am sad to say that is definitely normal. If you have questions regarding anything about your surgery, you need to schedule an appointment with your surgeon in his office. The Pre-admission testing is for the facility to get all of your past medical history and to make sure there are no underlying health problems that you have.

I already finished all the pre-op testing. This is mt final appt before surgery where i meet with the doctor and anatheseologist. I just thought the actual surgeon doing the surgery would meet with the patients.

I just had my pre op friday and it was with my surgeon. we talked about how he does it, if he thought I could go home that night, what his weight restriction for me is. I knew all of the general stuff but he adapted a lot of things because I am young and healthy...well other than being MO.
