Babies and the Band

I just had a very good local friend who has the band (Lopez, Oct 03 I believe) and she just gave birth this last week to the most beautiful little girl. I was so proud of mom and baby. The only problems my friend had was the occassional gallbladder irritation but they couldn't surgically do anything about it until after the baby was born. I don't think she has had any recent gall bladder problems so who knows if she'll need to get that taken care of. She did not gain anything during her pregnancy but actually lost a couple of pounds. I am waiting to hear how much she really lost now that the baby and placenta are out of her. She also had to have a C-section and that went perfectly normal. Her doctors were all aware of her band and she stayed nutricianally sound the whole pregnancy. Her baby weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. I'll ask her if I can post pics of the baby because she is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Best wishes, Teresa

What a beautiful story. My doc calls the band the fertility band, cause so many women are infertile from being MO. I love babies so much, Theresa, I just want to hug that one. Best wishes to them both. What's the baby's name?

How wonderful, Teresa! Please give mom and baby a big hug and kiss from their friends at LBT!! :D :D :D

I so miss babies. They're amazing. :)

Theresa, Ive wondered so many times about how the band affects pregnancy. What a wonderful story. Glad it was such a positive experience!

Like you, Im curious to know how much weight shes lost.

(((hugs))) to the new little family!

I am inn-sitting this week at the bed and breakfast and they have lame old dial up so I've been kind of limited on my internet time. I'll email Tracey tomorrow (she's actually a member of LBT but more of a lurker) and ask her about posting the babies pics. Tracey is the sweetest person in the world and I just adore her. She already had 3 children but now 4 AND she runs a daycare at home. Anyone who can do that has the patients of a saint. We met after I got my band and we realized we had the same surgeon. She had a heck of a time finding a good fill doc but after yours truly referred her to my wonderful Dr. Eubanks she is much happier with her fills. She has lost 115 lbs (before the babies birth) not sure what it is now. Like me, she started on the heavier side (somewhere close to my origonal weight) so she has a while for goal yet but she is looking great. I swear she looks younger and younger every time I see her. She's my starbuck buddy. Every couple of weeks we email each other and say "Hey, wanna meet!" Anyway I'm getting chatty. I'll email her and put those pics on if she agrees.

AAWWWW Emily Dawn is such a beautiful name! And my little girl weighed in at 7-11 (7lbs 11oz, not the convenience store) too! So it's a great number. Congratulations!!!!! Happy family!!

Yes, she is adorable. And between you and me Lisa, it kind of would be nice to be having a cute little baby girl. I teased my friend about adopting her baby to me her whole pregnacy. She just wouldn't go for it... LOL.

I got to hold baby Emily all evening and they are both wonderful. Tracey had a C-section and one problem she is having relates to that. She got a fluid build up under where the did the section but the fluid also built up under her port. The doc decided to crack that open so it could drain but now 6 weeks later it is still drip, drip, dripping and driving her nuts. She wants to swim with me and use the hottub but knows she can't so far. She has had it tested for infection and none was present. She goes back in tomorrow for a recheck. I'm going to have to bring my camera to our next meeting and get some shots of us together. Kristy met with us tonight too so we all chatted up a storm at our favorite starbucks. Teresa
