Im new... surgery date -5/12

Hi everyone. I am new to the website. My name is Carol. I am getting my lapband on May 12th. My doctor is Dr. Kfir Ben-David and Shands Univ. of Fl.

I am both nervous and excited.

I am 40 and a stay at home mom to my 2 youngest daughters.

I would love to make some new friends.

Welcome, Carol. I'm Stef. I'm getting banded May 14th. Good luck with yours. You sure have an age spread between your girls. I'll bet the big girls have a ton of fun with the little girls.

Good luck to you both. I was banded on 4/29, and as of 5/9 I have lost 17 lbs. goodness was i suprised. Be sure to stock up on powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury protien mix (the non flavor) to add to your chicken broth to keep in line with the 60 grams of protien a day goal. Its disgusting stuff, but its important to keep that much protien in your diet (so your muscles don't go soft, you heal from your surgery well and your hair won't fall out).! seriously those are the side effects of not getting enough protine in your diet. you want to loose the weight and heal well.

I adopted my oldest 2. I got pregnant with my 2 yr old 3 weeks after I adopted my stepdaughter Amber. Its amazing how that happens haha.

Congratulations on your weight loss. Good job! Hopefully I'm as successful as you. Are the other Unjury flavors any good? The website says something about tasting better than the competition. Is that not true? I've been on Optifast for the past 10 days. I'm tolerating that okay.

That is amazing how that happens but what a great gift I'm sure you've given your two older daughters for becoming their mother. It took my husband and me several years and a surgery to get pregnant. It finally happened for us just as we decided that not having children would be okay too. We sure are thankful for our little one.

Welcome and good luck. I was banded on March 4. It's been an awesome experience for me. I hope it will be good for you as well. I live in Southern Oregon. SS

Thanks everyone. This mother's day is not fun... Im on clears. YUCK.

Steffie - I also had surgery. I have PCOs and had ovarian drilling. I was pregnant 2 mos later. My 13 mo old was a nice surprise. I had given up on having babies when I got pregnant. We are still hoping for one more after Ive lost weight.

Hi and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on your surgery date. I hope everything goes well for you Monday. Post and let us know how you are doing as soon as you feel up to it.

Good luck!

Hi Carol! So glad to see you here!!! I'm so excited for you and just think, it will all be worth it. Pretty soon you'll be looking back on the CLD as a long gone thing of the past (as you put on your size 6 pants!).
