Banded 4/14 Doing good.....

Hi, I was banded yesterday, having a lot of gas pain, but other than that, I am fine. I am on a clear liquids for a week, then next week I am on regular liquids. Then week three soft mushy foods and week four 3 meals a day and a two snacks, of course staying away from certain foods. I am not going through this pain for nothing,I will eat right. I was on a liquid diet prior to surgery so I am used to it now, just worried about not getting enough vitamins and a little apprehensive about taking pills because of the gas pains. Any suggestions?

Hi, first I want to thank God who is # 1 in my life and I thank him for the people on this forum, you helped me to decide to have this surgery. I have learned so much from all of you. Thanks so much.

Welcome to the LOSER'S SIDE!!! Glad to have you here amongst us. I'm always excited when someone has their surgery and is starting this wonderful journey. The best advice that I can give to you concerning gas is to walk, walk and walk some more. That is really the only thing that helps it to move and get out of your body. When I had my surgery all my gas was in my shoulder under the collar bone. That was aggravating too. Good luck with everything and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hi ya Trell, I was banded Friday & have been walking & playing with my son & today I have almost no gas pain its great!!!

They make a liquid vitamin at GNC called Ultra Mega, its orange flavored, kinda spicy funky flavored but live able. I just got it today because I learned that chewable Flintstones aren’t good enough from a nutritionist lol.

Good luck to you dear!

Hi, i was also banded on 4/14, i also have the gas pain but my doctor said the more i move around the better it will get. My port site is also very sore but managed with my pain meds. Good luck to us all!
