How to get started

Hello!

I am very interested in having this procedure done,I feel that this is the only thing that will work for me,:frown: however, I don't know the first step to take. Any advise. Also how do I get my insurance company invovled to see what they pay for. Does anyone have Tricare and had them pay for this?

Hi, a good thing to do is attend a seminar in your area on the band. You can find one at this website: Home.

Have you spoken with your primary care provider about your interest in the band? He/she may also be able to help you get the ball rolling.

As far as insurance, you can either contact them yourself to find out if they cover it and what their requirements are, or you can wait until you have selected a surgeon and have them do it. Personally, I would probably contact my insurance first to find out exactly what they do and do not cover.

Lastly, research, research and research some more. You have taken a great first step just by joining LBT. There is tons of information on this site.
