Hi I have never done this before so hope I know what I am doing. I had my lap band surgery on 1-10-2008. Unfortunately I have only felt restrictions for a few days after surgery and a few days after my two fills. My last fill was Monday March 3rd and felt the restriction for one day. When I got my first fill February 11th there was only 0.5cc of fluid. The doctor filled with 3 1/2cc. At my appointment on the 3rd there was only 2cc fluid left and he filled with 4 1/2cc. I am thinking about making another appointment for next week. Has anyone else had this problem this number of times?

Restriction right after surgery is most likely due to the swelling. The same can be said for feeling it right after fills. I'm guessing you have a 10cc band, and I know many, many people who have needed 10+ fills to achieve good restriction.

But - if I read your post correctly, you have disappearing Fluid?

When I got my first fill February 11th there was only 0.5cc of fluid. The doctor filled with 3 1/2cc.
So that would put you at 4cc...
At my appointment on the 3rd there was only 2cc fluid left and he filled with 4 1/2cc.
So somehow you went from 4cc to 2cc, and were given another 4.5 to give you a current total of 6.5cc. Is that right?

Dear Weetsin,

I thought I had replied to you but now I am not so sure. Not only do I need info on the lap band but also on posting to forums! To answer your questions the totals I gave you were the total he filled with. First fill a total of 3.5 cc and second fill total of 4.5cc. Yes it seems I am losing Fluid each time. I am concerned that I may need further surgery and with my cardiac problems that would not be an easy solution for me. Have you ever heard of anyone with a loss of fluid?

Many people have experienced loss of fluid from the band. Some people have mentioned a thicker solution called Omnipaque that can help with leaks. Ask your fill doctor about it.
