My journey begins...

Hello all :glare: I stumbled across this forum several weeks ago & was amazed at what a great resource this is. After all the “try-agains”, I’ve settled on surgery as the last resort tool to help me make this life change for good. Our program here (Grand Forks, ND) is one of, as many put it, “a whole heck of a lot of hoops to go through,”, but I instead see this as a commitment to help ensure the success both before, during, & after banding. These hoops include: mandatory seminar, requests for medical records for the last 5 years from every doctor, appointment with a dietician, appointment with a psychologist, initial bariatric assessment, appointment with surgeon, 12 mandatory nutrition & exercise class, 6 wk mandatory behavior modifications class, after all of this (& of course insurance approval), surgery date gets to be set, and then the long awaited surgery. WOW!!! That made me tired !!! I’ve just started the 12 wks class & have my appts with psychologist & initial assessment this next Friday. I look forward to this journey & to getting to know you…:)

Hi there and welcome. Wow, it looks like you definitely have a lot to do to prepare for the surgery. But, once you get your date you will be well prepared.
