Hello all! I am new here and will be having lap band on March 20, 2008. I am Going through TLCedge and hoping someone else here has too. I welcome all suggestions on what has helped other before during and after their sugery.

Hi and welcome. Congratulations on your decision to get the band, only a little over a month to go and you will be an official "bandster".

As far as advice, I guess I would need a bit more specific questions, as there are so many areas to talk about. Check out the "stickies" at the top of the forums, as they offer tons of great advice.

Thank you for the welcome and I am very excited to become a "bandster". How long does it take to recover so I know how long to ake off work? How fast have people lost weight?

I had mine done on 2/13 and am going back to work on Thursday, a little over a week off. I feel like I could have easily went back today, but I'm glad I waited a full week. The first few days were pretty rough, but the last few have gotten progressively better and I feel fantastic this morning!

I am glad you are feeling so good only a week after! I was planning on taking Day of surgery which is a thursday and going back to work on Tuesday. It sounds like I may need to wait another day. Has everyone doen the 2 week liquid diet? That is what I am most worried about.

I will be banded on March 14th! and I am counting the days... I plan to take an entire week off... I think taht way I will be completely recovered since I am standing or walking most of the day.
