Day 3 Post-OP

Hey All,

I woke up this morning and found my BURP:) what a wonderful feeling. Pain is less and gas is defiantly less. I must give much love and admiration to my wife, she has ROCKED through this whole journey. We have 2 kids and she has had double duties all weekend. Anyway did I say I could finally burp!!!!! I had 482 calories yesterday, 70 gr Protein and 62 oz of Water. I am putting ice packs on my main incision area and it seams to be helping. All the food I am trying to eat is going down good. Its only Yogurt and cream of ckn Soup, but its a start. I have not been on a scale since surgery but I can tell I am loosing weight. Well every day will be better than the last, and that is a great feeling.

Glad you found that burp! You are doing well, and it is great that your wife is so supportive of you, that makes all the difference in the world.

I'm glad you're feeling better. Have you tried tomato soup? You can make it with skim milk to bump up the protein and it's both soothing and filling.

I was banded here in Portland Oregon on 2/13. I was so concerned about the gas and for some reason I had NONE! I couldn't believe it. My nutritionist told me to mix my Soups etc. with 2% milk for a little extra fat the first few weeks. Makes it a little heartier. I had some tomato soup with 2% and mixed in a couple tbls. of grated parmeson cheese and it was fantastic! Glad to hear you are doing well fellow bander!!
