I wish I would have found this site a long time ago! I am 30 years old and have a 10 year old son who is a type 1 diabetic. I was banded on October 5, 2007 by Dr. Lopez Corvala in Tijuana, Mexico. I have lost about 20# since surgery (not near what I would like to be at). I recently had my 4th fill, and I am now having problems with most of the foods I was eating. Not a bad thing, obviously I could have lost more. So now I am going to start a low carb diet and hope to drop all of this weight!

I tell you what. Low carb can really kick you into gear. My pre-op diet is high protein/low carb (30 mg a day) and I have lost 12.5 lbs in just under two weeks. Congrats on your weight loss so far and good luck in your journey!
