new at this!

I have been thinking about getting the lap-band for over a year now. I finally got the courage and went to the consult last week. I have a BMI of 49, I hadn't been on a scale in months:eek:!!! Now it's just the waiting game, getting all the records from previous doctors. I just hope and pray to GOD that my insurance approves it. Has anybody out there been denied? Why did they deny it? I have BCBS.

Hi, and welcome to the boards. You will love all the support and information you will get here. From what I have learned is that there are so many different types of BCBS policy's. I have BCBS Federal Basic and haven't seen another BCBS policy like mine. I have found that my BCBS is different then BCBS of CA and that one is different then BCBS of IL and that one is totally different then BCBS of KS, and so forth.....
