Gas

Hi there I was wonder if having to burp for hours after eating is common? Does this mean something? eating too much too fast?? I have noticed it more after my last fill. I would welcome any comments or suggestions.

Thank you

Sue

I have no idea what causes it, but I have the same problem. I am getting a slight unfill tomorrow to see if that makes a difference. In my case, it's very painful also. I know it has nothing to do with eating too fast. It happens even if I only drink water.

Hey guys. Gas is caused by swollowing air or the digestion of "gas producing foods" like veggies. Constipation can also cause gas to build up. You can try to be really careful not to swollow air when you drink. Don't use a straw- think of the air that sits in that empty straw and then you suck it up when you drink.

I take Gas Ex when I am in pain. I also take a stool softener if I haven't gone #2 in the morning. I don't wait for a couple days to see if it will get moving...I take the bull by the horns and get it moving. Otherwise I have been in a fetal position unable to walk and thinking that I am either giving birth or dying because of gas build up.

Good luck!

Instead of a stool softner I usually boil a mixture of dried, prunes, pineapple, apricots and cranberrys (like a stew) Just a few tablesppons of that and in one hour everything is flowing freely. All natual ,low cal and you can make a large batch it keeps for about two weeks. This was my grandmothers recipies so it is time tested and true.

Sue, I too, burp alot after eating something small. AND sometimes I have to force myself to burp several times to make my food go through the stoma. (sorry for the graphics)

Strange.

Bigmom-

Thanks for the recipe. I'm all for more natural solutions any where I can get them.

So all of those fruits are dried? Then you put them in a pan and boil them? Do you add water?

Thanks!!

Megan

I tend to belch more in general now... it's worse when I skip a meal or when I eat too much or too quickly. My fill must really be kicking in because I find this is happening almost with every meal...

When I don't eat I have yucky pain in my lt shoulder and belch like a grown man drinking beer.
