is it up to me or my insurance whether i have my surgery outpatient or an overnight stay?

Your insurance will pretty much make this decision for you. Or, your surgeon if he/she feels there's a reason you should stay.

My dr only does them at a surgery center, I had surgery around 12 and was home by 3:30.

If given a choice, go for the overnight stay. There is no way I could have left the hospital that day and been ok. I know plenty of people here would disagree. I'm just saying, if you get the choice, take it.

I didn't know it was a choice I was out of there in 4 hrs I hate hospital I want to heal at home :smile:

The decision was left up to my DR I was approved for an overnight stay, but my DR let me go home. I did really really good.

My dr. makes everyone stay overnight. At first, I was upset, but after the surgery---Thank God, I got to stay...

most insurance company require a minimum of a 24 hour hospital stay. my surgeon would not let me out until that point
