Pre-Op Question: Help!

:help:Hello everyone! I am new to the lapbandtalk forum. I am getting banded in one week, and I just got off the phone with my nutritionist for instructions on the preop diet. I forgot to ask her such an important question, and now I can't reach her. I start the 7day modified Atkins diet tomorrow to shrink my liver. I dislocated my shoulder last week, and I am still needing an painkiller every once in a while when my shoulder is really tight - does anyone know if it is o.k. to take these until my surgery in a week?? Thanks, any input would be so appreciated!

Megan - Thank you so much!

I figured if there were any restrictions they would have definitely told me - but I wanted to see if anyone else had that type of restriction,

Thanks!!

So Excited!!

Sunshine,

It really depends on the name, type and ingrediates of the painkiller. You can ask your docs ofice not the nutritionist. Hope this helps,

Lana

I agree I would call back and ask the docs office, they would know .

It is Percocet with Tylenol -

I am sure its o.k. - I am not taking them alot, only at night when I cannot sleep.

But I am going to call just in case.

Thanks all!

Just incase anyone has this same question - I called the doc's office and they said this painkiller before surgery was just fine! Thanks
