Hi everyone!

I am in the early stages of this process. My new job has coverage so I'm waiting to hear back on the hoops I will need to jump through to get my sleeve revised to the bypass due to heartburn, I also have a hiatal hernia to be fixed and my surgeon also noted a 'kink' in my esophagus on the fluoroscopy he did--not super severe but does make drinking fluids harder--I utilize carbonated beverages for fluids-like carbonated water because they go down so much easier--to also note my sleeve at almost 5 years out (when I had the fluoroscopy done) showed no notable stretching in case anyone is wondering). I am currently eating multiple famotidine a day after I had heartburn start a couple of years or so after the sleeve after having none. Then I got diagnosed with the hernia via CT when I was having severe lower chest pain that landed me in the ER---fun fact, hernia makes the heartburn SO much worse and since that happened I've been on top of the antacid game because I will never go through that pain again! The hernia came up maybe 18-24mos ago and the heartburn had gotten worse and worse leading up to the ER visit.

So now for my question: for those of you that have gone through the revision + hernia repaid and bonus if you've also had esophagus kink-age repair---how is the recovery? I have a WFH remote job answering calls, so pretty flexible on stretching, very low movement. How much time did you take off? What made the recovery easier? Any other tips or things to add? How did your tastebuds change (if they did again)?

Thanks so much!

I can only speak on the hernia repair... I have NEVER had heartburn once since my surgery. Its amazing and there was no pain associated with the repair whatsoever.

Looks like we are in a small group of people who visit the forums. I am needing a revision for GERD and was hopeful your post would have some comments lol
