Hi all, 12 days PO here. Was doing amazing and all of a sudden yesterday I developed left shoulder pain, the same feeling I had early PO. I’m freaking out bc I have in my head this could be a leak, I didn’t sleep all night over it. I rang my surgeon he told me since I don’t have a fever, or anything else it could be gas. Did anyone else have something like this, esp being this far out?

it's almost certainly gas.

leaks are uncommon and are almost always found (and fixed) before you leave the hospital.

I agree with catwoman7, pretty positive its gas pain.

I had this exact problem myself. I talked to my doctor and was told it was one of three things:

1. The nitrogen gas they use to expand your abdomen tends to saturate shoulders (leak) and neck regions causing pain or

2. You unknowingly tighten your shoulders to compensate for the surgical would pain, or

3 The surgical tables are really really hard and uncomfortable causing pain to shoulder and back if you're not used to laying on a solid hard plain.

I hope this helps, I had to get muscle relaxants my shoulder and back hurt so much!
