I’m trying to figure out if I will be ok for surgery the week after next my son’s birthday it was last week which I also started my preop diet, which was on the third and my sons birthday was on the fifth. I had two cupcakes, but I did start my preop diet, the right way until his birthday then yesterday I went to a party which I had two slices of pizza but in between those times I was still eating when I was supposed to and also doing my Protein Shakes like I’m supposed to I have one more week which is coming up of the preop diet and I wanted to know do you guys think I will be OK?

you will be fine but stop with the bad food. if you cant control it during pre op. Post op is going to be very challenging then because at that point it can be dangerous to slip up like that during recovery. Most people slip up during their pre op diet but the point is to get back on track and loose that weight to have that surgery. A couple people have posted on here that they got to the operating table, opened up and their liver was still big and they closed them up and sent them home. you dont want that to happen. So get back on track and follow your doctors pre op diet guidelines.

Yea the reality is you’re probably going to be fine but maybe not if you slip again. Part of what’s good about the pre op is that you get to prove it to yourself that you can do it post op cause like liveaboard15 said, you can seriously I just yourself from one little slip post op.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
