I've been getting pretty bad acid reflux for the passed week or so when I eat ANYTHING! I had never had problems with heartburn or acid reflux before surgery...my doctor puts all of his band patients on protonix for the first month post-op, but a week after I ended that medication, I started getting very uncomfortable (not painful) acid reflux. I know that acid reflux is common when bands are too tight, but I've only received 1 fill so far (5cc's in a 10cc band) and I don't even feel that restricted! I've tried taking extra tums, but it doesn't do too much good. Any suggestions on what to do? What kinds of foods trigger acid reflux? Thanks :huggie:

I was banded Nov 19th and the reflux has gotten worse. I don't eat in the evenings and sleep with the head of the bed elevated. During the night acid comes out of my nose. Has anyone else had this

Smoking, alcohol and spicy foods. I take daily Zantac and it helps. Otherwise, you will need an unfill. Acid reflux, while common, is not a good thing. It can really hurt your esophogus. I would take control and let your doctor know.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
