I had bypass 15/10/2020 and im on medication for reflux but im suffering bad reflux everytime I eat or drink is anyone else having the same problem?

Were you put on medication like omeprazole?

Yes 20mg twice a day and still doesn't help

Are you eating foods that trigger reflux? Also, try elevating your head when you are lying down

Sorry to hear this. I'm happy to see that I completely got rid of my GERD within a couple of months post-op sleeve.

let your surgeon's office know. You're in the right window for a stricture. Happens to about 5% of bypass patients. It's an easy fix. I had two of them - one at four weeks out and one at eight weeks out (they usually happen when you're between 1-3 months post surgery - and almost never happen once you're three months out). I'm not saying this is what it is, but those are the common symptoms, and again, you're in the right time frame for it.

I can't take omeprazole because it increases my acid. I was paranoid that I would react like that to all PPI's so I take famotidine instead and it works great. Though just to be on the safe side you should call your surgeon.

I take 20mg of famotadine at bed time and omeprazole in the am.
