Health issues after surgery

Recommended Posts

Hi ,

I was "sleeved" 4 months ago , 29th August. So far I've lost around 56-58 pounds. Since beginning I couldnt walk to much or exercise cause of the pain in the right side - where liver amd gallbladder are. Talked to my surgeon and did some bloodwork - everything seemed normal. Surgeon suggested to stay of working out and just walk. Last 2 weeks I had intens pain so I ended up doing an ultrasound to se what the hell is wrong.Of course gallbladder stones were to blame and there wasn't any surprise there. Another thing poped up - I suddenly have a hemangioma on my liver that wasn't there before surgery. It is 4 x 3 cm . I'm scheduled to remove gallbladder in one month. Right now I'm not sure is it the cause of pain because it isn't food related - I don't eat eggs - allergic, I don't eat greasy or spicy food , etc. I feel pain when I walk , try to exercise or do any activity for longer time.

Please any kind of advices pr experience is more than welcome.

Thanks

Selena

What does your surgeon say about the hemangioma? We all have these by the way. They are called incidentalomas (accidental findings). I have hemangiomas all over my body: liver, back, spine, etc...I don't believe they are supposed to cause pain? Don't know what the risk of them is. 4x3cm sounds alarming though. 2.54cm=1in.

I think your pain if from gb? But dunno. The liver thing would be big enough for you to feel it. I have a liver cyst that I feel when it flares up.

Why waiting 1 mo? I think if it gets worse, go to ER and keep doing it till they take it out earlier... ((hugs))

My surgeon said just to track it.

I have an appointment next week with him

I know a lot about it - usually it is a congenital and affects women more cause of estrogen

Fact one - I didn'thave that hemangioma on my liver before surgery - radiologist said " it looks like it but I'm not sure"

Fact two - gb is "calm" - no signs of inflammation or stone movement and medications given doesn't help with the pain

So I'm thinking to ask for a CT scan to check what is really going on inside

The reason for a month wait is to give chance to "calm" down and to do a pre op tests

The pain itself isn't intense but constant and boring and it hurts more when I move more - it feels like when your muscles are in pain after a run ... It gets sharper when I move around more

I'm just worried ... don't want to go on a surgery if they aren't sure what the problem really is , you know ..

Thanks for finding time to answer 😘

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
