Getting Banded 12/12/07

Hi, I am new here but I have been reading the forum for a few weeks now. I am getting banded in December by Dr. Paul Cirangle in San Fran. Has anyone on here gone to Dr. Cirangle? If so, how was he and how was your experience? I am starting out at 246 and my BMI is 37. My goal is 140-145. It is interesting to hear everyone's experiences. The hope and excitement is great to hear. I am nervous, but I hope this is the beginning of a different life for me. A healthy, active life. To hear the optimism on this forum is inspiring. Thanks for the help.

Good luck, Poppy20. Are you sure that's your BMI? I'm 209 and that's my BMI. How tall are you? I'm 5'3" so that's probably why.

This is a great forum but you HAVE TO avoid the negative posts. They will discourage you and freak you out to the point that you might reconsider your decision.

I'm not much for the "rah rah" police, but I love the support on this board. I'm being banded on 11/30 unless something changes so I can't wait to let everyone know how I'm doing and get the "positive" vibes.

Merry Christmas!!

Hi Poppy!!

Congrats on your surgery date. I was just banded 10/29/07. Everything went fine, and I even had to have a couple of old hernias repaired.

Welcome!! this place is great for information, encouragment, and friends!!
