Hi All!!! I have been away from the board for a while. Just a busy summer. Weight loss is slow but steady. 63 lbs since Oct. 29 2007. I had hit a plateu for about 4 weeks, then this past week 4 lbs down. Over all I am pleased with the weight loss, could be a little faster if I could rev up my exercise program, but due to a heart problem I am limited to what and how much I can do. I absoultly agree with you!!!, There is a lady here near where I live that 2 weeks after surgery ate KFC fried chicken and had to go to the emergency room to have it removed and she couldent understand the problem. Talk about issues. HELLO!!! Follow the rules!!! Connie

Crispy2, You said it.... I finally learned the HARD SLIMY way bread and pasta dont do it for me any more. And after my family harped at me about rushing to the bath room or garbage can, I just dont do it!! I work with my band now. Some of us are just hard headed!! Connie

Hi All, May 29th will be 7 months for me. Its been slow but steady. To date I have lost 50 lbs. A pound here 3 lbs there. I am completely happy. I get stuck every now and then, and I have decided breads and starches dont work for me as they usually cause a P.B. episodes. So I do meats and veggies. I sure feel better. I have decided I need to join a local support group as it will keep me motivated. Good luck to all !!! Connie:thumbup:

Doll Baby...you probably are having Trapped Gass Pain from the surgery...its normal..I had it for a couple weeks......walk....walk.....walk... and take the Gas EX Strips!!!! thy work wonders!! Connie

Suger Baby dont despair!! It will get better.....eat the cup O soups with the noodles at this stage it won hurt!! I know FULL WELL how bored you are and frustrated. This is normal!!!!! believe me it will get better and it will all be wotrh it!!! Just hang in there!! Connie

Hi Sally, I went on a cruise the first part of october and had a BLAST!!! THEN i had my surgery OCT 29TH. Enjoy your cruise and then have your surgery and get seirous. Connie

Hi, Dont lose faith..it will happen sooner than you think!! I started my trek in april of 2007 and had surgery Oct 29th 2007. I have lost 43 lbs to date with no problems. Connie

:rolleyes2:I dident NOT tell any one about my Lap Band. Most people do not even know the difference. And now that it's noticible with my slight weght loss, I just say it was much safer than Gastric By-Pass even though its much slower, and leave it at that. C/C:tt2:

Hi All; I have heard everyone has their little signs they are full and to stop, burps, hiccups, ects....I guess mine is PB's, because everytime I eat too much, or somthing it does not like such as bread, potatoes, pasta, ect.. its gonna come back up. Its not a major deal, I just take care of it and thats it. Its not like throwing up, because its stuck in my esophagus and just slimes back up. Connie

Hi All; My Co Pay to my Doctor was $236.00 and "0" to the Hospital. A friend of mine was self pay to the same doctor/Hospital and her cost was $14,900.00. My cost to the ins. was $29,000.00. Of course I had to stay over nite due to 2 hernia repairs. Still rather strange..............and my insurence is balking at paying for the fills. Call it "Experimental Treatment". Now go figure....why have the surgery if you cant have the fills??? We are fighting them. They should have investigated the whole deal before hand. Right? Connie:rolleyes2:

Hey Sugar, I am from Dothan and had my surgery 10/29/07 and to date (3 months) I have lost 38 pounds. Getting over my surgery was easier than the way I felt at my current weight, 296.0. Dr Schmitt at St. Vincents in B-Ham did mine. They have a wonderful program. Connie

I have just had my 3rd fill for a total of 5 c.c.'s. The last fill was a whole 1cc. For the first day I was great restricted, but today it is just like all the other fills about 2 hours after a small meal I am major hungry!!! With the exception of the first 2 weeks I have been hungry for the most part. Am I destined to be a BOTTOMLESS PIT?? I am tired of being hungry!! Thanks For The VENT Connie:confused:

Suger dont let it get you down!!! Just jump through their HOOPS and it will happen befor you know it. I started the HOOP jumping in April 2007 and it was the end of Oct. 2007 before it happened!!. Emotions are going to run high, but it is worth it all!! Hang In There!! Connie

Woild I do it again? Well lets see...Right off the bat I had to stay extra day in the hospital due to several hernias I dident know I had, and had to be repaired when I got banded, 10 day later my port incision ruptured and spewed saline and old blood, had to be tested for infection, fear of port replacment, antibiotics, port site took 4 weeks to totaly heal and stay closed, went for 2 fill in six weeks and Dr. Schmitt was certain my port was tryin to flip, yesterday was my 3rd fill and my port is fine and I WOULD DO IT ALL AGAIN IN A HEART BEAT!!! I have lost 35 lbs in 11 weeks and am off 2 meds todate. I just never sweated the small stuff!! Connie

Hi Steph... I weigh once a week every Monday Morning totaly naked after I use the bathroom and wash my Face!! ( what a ritual right!!). And I keep a Journal/Chart of the date and weight and what I am feeling at the time. I was banded 10/29/07 and have lost 33.5 lbs. I still have not got to my perfect feeling FILL. I go monday 01/21/08 for my 3 rd fill. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this will be the one. Good luck to you!! Connie
