im good but I just got a call from my surgeon office saying that my primary doc has not sent his clearance letter yet!! mind you I saw him on oct 17 th and he told me all was well and he just wanted me to make sure he gets sent the bloodwork results, he was also telling me he was unsure if he could do the pulmonary clearance since he know of my sleep apnea and cpat usage being good and I am compliant with the usage. Turned out I did need a pulmonary specialist so I went to one the same day as I did the bloodwork ,fast forward they sent my primary the results yesterday , so he has everyone's report to send the clearance letter but...…… I just called his office and was told they do see the results from pulmonary but he out of the office til Monday and Monday is my surgery date OMG what do I do....?????

Thanks. Miserable night trying to get comfortable but feeling a little better this morning. Gas is slowly reducing. Pain is manageable and looking forward to getting better and better. Good luck to all going in today.

Most definitely I’m still uncomfortable at time but not in any real pain popsicles and electrolytes water has been my savior I’m not really liking the protein shakes anymore right now but my hardest part is not sleeping on my side and stomach due to that’s how I sleep so hard so I wake up a lot sore from that but each day is getting better and better it’s definitely going to get easier each day hope you are feeling better to and good job with walking it helps too a lot

Day five post op...

Quick question for you, at 5 days out, do you think you could go to a movie theater and watch a movie?

Reason I ask is a friend of mine is doing a talk at the local movie theater and I'd like to go but I'm not sure that 5 days after my surgery I'd be able to go...

Thank you,

I wouldn’t be able to. No popcorn, no soda ☹️☹️☹️

I’m out of surgery! Walking around and eating ice chips. I’m a little sore, but overall I feel good. ? New beginning!!!!

I've already come to terms with that. Although I agree that the smell may bother me in a new way...we shall see.

Congrats! Amazing that you are online just hours after...I'm encouraged by your success.

Hello everybody, i am officially on my 2 week pre-op liquid diet as of yesterday and this is so hard. I did eat a bite-size snickers today. I’m trying to take this one day at a time and not beat myself up about. I’m having the worse migraine as well, but I’m keeping myself motivated because I’m becoming a little scared.

Good luck ! Try not to cheat but I bet it’s hard .Im starting my two week pre-op diet next Tuesday hope I can say I haven’t cheated

Thanks everyone SO MUCH for the thoughts and prayers. So quick recap: went in for my sleeve on 11/1. When I came out of recovery I immediately did not feel right. I was up and walking right away but so nauseous. All the other sleeved patients look so much better than I did! I was shaky and vomiting for the next 3 days. I failed my upper GI test twice. The contrast would not move past my esophagus into my stomach. I found out along the way that I had the sleeve done AND a hernia repair. They let me eat and discharged me home despite these complications on my 3rd day. My first night at home I vomited 5 times. I called my surgeon and he told me to come back in the morning so he could do an EGD. Went back to the hospital and they tried to do a cat scan with MORE DYE. I told them I couldn't drink it and proved it by throwing it up. They finally got themselves together and took me back to the OR where I had the EGD done and repair once more of my hernia. Apparently, my sleeve came up through the hernia and was blocking and putting pressure on my esophagus. It's why I couldn't swallow and food wouldn't go all the way down. I came out of recovery feeling 1000% better. I got discharged back home yesterday and I'm tolerating my clears no problem. GUYS, thanks so much for thinking of me. Please advocate for yourselves. If you dont feel right, you guys know your bodies! Don't be afraid to speak up and fight for yourselves.
