International Cuisine

Surprisingly, I have been having success with international foods. I tried a small portion of the mushroom chicken and angus steak from Panda Express (of course no rice because I’m only 7 weeks post gastric sleeve) and it was soo good! My sleeve didn’t fight me. Today I just noticed thatOlive Garden now offers Zoodles! Zoodles is pasta made from zucchini. I had the Salmon piccata that is served with zucchini, it was good but I have now discovered that I don’t really care for salmon anymore. My husband makes delicious Jamaican curry chicken so he’s going to make some for me that is mild and use cauliflower rice to accompany it. Has anyone else had success with international cuisine either store bought or homemade?

  • That's interesting to hear about Zoodles options at Olive Garden and Noodles & Co.

  • At Noodles & Co you can make any item with Zoodles, even if it's not one of the advertised combos. There's a small upcharge.

  • Yep I think it's now known as Noodles World Kitchen. It's a fast casual pasta place.

I can eat pretty much anything now, but early out (once I was cleared for solid foods), yes - I ate international food. With Chinese, I'd skip the rice and focus on something with (non-fried) meat & veggies. Mexican - I'd order a fajita and again just focus on the meat & veggies. Or else I'd get a taco and just eat the innards. Middle Eastern places - kabobs work, and so does hummus.

I"m glad to hear so many places are offering zoodles now. I heard recently that Noodles & Co has a zoodles option for some of its dishes, too. That opens up a whole new world, since I haven't eaten pasta in over four years!
